Inspiration behind the design
Colorhouse’s Almost Ripe color, makes me smile and feel energized – happy. So when putting together my inspiration, I thought of things that make me happy. It’s winter in Portland, and I spend a lot of time reading and dreaming of our next travel plans. I do this while lounging in my orange hammock – I always feel like I am on holiday in a hammock! I have the wood tables my husband and I made, out of trees from my parents house, stacked with books. A painting from Julie Cassin, one of my favorite Portland artists, inspires me with its surreal nature. Flor carpet tiles warm the space. And Saki, the wonder dog, cuddles with me! All of these things inspire me to create, dream and explore…look at what a color can do!

Encircle Design Build
Michelle Ruber and Klaas de Jonge focus on whole house, kitchen, and bathroom remodels in inner Portland. They believe that designing and building houses is a creative challenge, and they love to do it with a sustainable focus. When not building things they are traveling, typically on bicycles. Visiting remote areas, sharing food and conversation, and searching for the best cup of coffee, are all things they adore.
