Spring Color Trends 2018: The softness of spring petals reflect the pastel-painted walls that surround us. We are craving the hope and happiness that spring blooms represent, as new life peeks through cold ground. Botanical prints, oversized blooms, and foraged centerpieces are working their way into our homes through textiles, artwork, and arrangements.
We collaborated with floral designer Katie Stewart, founder of Dearhouse Collective, to connect the color composition of petals to paint. Katie hand-selected blooms in 4 color ways to correspond to our Spring Color Trends, and our Color Nerds created 4 color blocks to showcase the blooms.
Here’s how we did it and what we used:
CREATE .01
DREAM .03
GLASS .03
BEESWAX .04
Level
Pencil
Painter’s tape
Paint brush and roller set up for each color

Paint a base coat of CREATE .01 and let dry. Measure and draw lines for the second color block. Our wall is 8’x8′, so our second color block will be 6’x7′, centered vertically on the wall and oriented to the right.

Tape along your lines.

Seal the edge! This PRO TIP will ensure you have straight lines with no bleed-through.

Fill in with GLASS .03.

Remove the tape.

When dry, measure and tape for your next color block. This one is 4’x5′, centered vertically on the wall and oriented to the right.

Don’t forget to seal the edge!

Fill in with DREAM .03.

Remove the tape. You are almost done!

Measure, tape, and seal the edge for your final color block. Fill in with BEESWAX .04. This block is 3’x4′, centered vertically on the wall and again oriented to the right.

Style with your favorite spring blooms and admire.
