Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that typically involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it in indigo. In MAKE THIS: Shibori Wall, our Color Nerds will show you how to #DIY this technique on your walls with Colorhouse paint!

First things first – pump up the BASE! Use Blue .01 from Color by Crate and Barrel as the base coat for your Shibori Wall. Then…let’s get to taping! Using 2″ blue painter’s tape, create vertical stripes 2′ apart. Dipping your roller in the luscious Blue .06 from Color by Crate and Barrel, paint over the tape.

Now it’s time for the REALLY fun part! Spray water along the tape line. Remove tape. And spray some more! Make sure to have a waterproof drop cloth down below to catch the drips.

After all that fun work, now it’s time for a nap! Once you are rested, check out the rest of our simple DIY projects and start planning your next project.
